THE LEATHER
The leather on this strap is Calfskin leather from Italy. It is vegetable tanned leather, the oldest and intricated method to tan leather. Veg-tanning is an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from bark or other plant tissues. The leather has a natural smell and will develop a rich patina over time with use and age.
STITCHING AND THREAD
Each strap is lined by a soft leather backing called Zermatt and held together by a durable linen thread.
The artisans use saddle-stitch techniques to hand-sew the leather, which is more durable and sturdy.
